THOMPSON Glen Thompson's family wishes to thank so many who helped in the service of celebration of his life on August 9th at Gimli Lutheran Church. Beth McLean, minister of Winnipeg Beach United Church, has always been a thoughtful, caring visitor to Glen, and was so helpful to us all in planning the service. As always, she thought of the children using the beautiful storybook, "The Next Place". We appreciated the Lutheran Church sharing its facilities and Mel and Ken giving much time and technical ability to ensure good reception both upstairs and downstairs. Pastor Les Skonnard participated willingly Glen called him his "Lutheran/United Church pastor". He takes the Sunday morning Chapel services at the Betel Care Home and was a good friend to Glen. Hedi Bjornson and Ginny Parent had everyone, including the angels we're sure, singing with their beautiful music. A real thank you to those who attended and to those who brought "a single flower", and some a bouquet, so a huge flower garden sprang up for Glen. Thank you to the many who have donated to charities close to Glen's heart. A real thank you to Steve of Splash Printing who set up and donated the wonderful bulletins for the service. Thank you to Winnipeg Beach United Church people who baked and helped serve the large crowd at the reception and helped with the clean-up, and to Don and Donna Winstone for ushering. We still value and appreciate Glen's special caregivers at the Betel Home. Mackenzie's Funeral Services have been very supportive and professional. We have appreciated the beautiful cards and heartfelt messages that truly inspire us. God bless you all and we thank God for a long life well-lived. Sincerely, Jesmondine and family
